Mandala Beats follows Israeli reggae-funk bassist and producer Yossi Fine as he travels to India in an exploration of the country’s unique musical language and its connections to his recently discovered heritage.

Known as the Jimi Hendrix of bass guitar, Fine has recorded and produced music with renowned artists around the world, including Lou Reed, Brian Eno, and the late David Bowie. Upon discovery of his own Indian heritage, Fine departs on a journey of rediscovery, setting out for India to explore new sounds and collaborate with Rajasthani folk musicians. A series of chance encounters culminate in a stunning collaboration between friends and musicians on the banks of the Ganges River in the city of Rishikesh. A poetic and momentous performance, it echoes the film’s deepest sentiments of music’s extraordinary ability to break barriers and unite people from all walks of life.
