NVA x Goethe Institut Equinox Artist Talk: Luz

To kick off NVA Equinox 2019, we welcomed two of our international artists for live Q&As about their practice and engagement with their local queer scenes. Luz discussed the creation of Room 4 Resistance and contemporary queer nightlife in Berlin.

Belgian born and Berlin-based DJ, Luz is the cofounder of Room 4 Resistance – a queer femme / non-binary forward collective focused on community-building and creating safer space & visibility for underrepresented artists in dance music. Since 2014, R4R runs parties, curates panels and workshops to promote women, gender queers, non-binaries, trans, black and POC artists – to explore the political dimensions of the dance floor, and create bridges between different communities. Luz also hosts a monthly Room 4 Resistance radio show alongside Doc Sleep on Lisbon’s Ràdio Quântica.

In collaboration with Goethe-Institut Montreal as part of the Queer As German Folk finissage.
