The Legend Series evening will celebrate the career of the multi-platinum recording artist, actress and activist.

Montréal, Québec (Tuesday, July 17, 2018) – On Friday, August 17, 2018 at 7:00pm Never Apart will host a special Legend Series honouring Canadian artist Deborah Cox, the chart-topping, multi-platinum R&B recording artist and Broadway star. A first for the center, this Legend Series will combine an on-stage interview with radio personality Kelly Alexander, as well as a special surprise rendition from Ms. Cox to be accompanied by Chad Linsley from the Schulich School of Music. In celebration of Fierté Montréal, this event enhances Never Apart’s mission by welcoming Deborah Cox’s grand global talent as a voice of good.

“It was an immediate yes for me to accept Never Apart’s invitation for a Legend Series,” says Deborah Cox. “For the past three years, Never Apart has brought to life original programming that promotes acceptance across various groups, with a global reach. It is a real privilege for me to be able to share my story in this intimate and special place,” adds the star who portrayed Rachel Marron in the Broadway production of The Bodyguard (a role first made famous by Whitney Houston).

“Early on, Deborah Cox was embraced by the LGBTQA+ community and built a loyal following. Her noteworthy career takes her around the world where people from various cultures come together to see her perform. We are thrilled to be welcoming Ms. Cox for a first-ever Legend Series that will combine an on stage interview and special surprise,” says Dax Dasilva, Founder of Never Apart.

In addition to Ms. Cox’s visit, attendees to the event are also welcome to view the five brand new Summer exhibitions that will be on display. Summer ripens at Never Apart with new ideas, declarations of resilience and environmental consciousness from July 12 – September 22, 2018. Deborah Cox is also set to headline Fierté Montreal with an energetic outdoor free show on Saturday August 18, 2018 at Parc des Farborgs.
