Candis Cayne high kicked her way from the New York City club scene into television with her groundbreaking role on Dirty Sexy Money. Being the first Transgender actress to have a recurring primetime role, emphasizes her trailblazing power as an LGBT role model. Since then, she continues to light up Hollywood and the global stage.

Candis returns to Montreal to host Wiggle for the third time. The Wearable Art spectacle celebrates its 22nd year and second time in collaboration with Never Apart. Ms. Cayne last visited Montreal in 2015 where she was one of the Grand Marshals at Fierté.

Wiggle is a wearable art and performance extravaganza that invites artists and designers to create fantasy wigs and headpieces that are then worn in the fashion element of the avant-garde variety show. Combined with innovative performances and a fashion-forward crowd, this show is an out-of-this-world event celebrating all things ‘Wig’.

Wiggle started many moons ago in Windsor, Ontario and Detroit, Michigan and moved to Vancouver in 1995 along with multi-media artist collective ‘The House of Venus’ with Michael Venus at the helm. Venus celebrated Wiggle’s 20th year at The Vancouver Art Gallery and had been a part of the city’s fashion, drag and underground scene, launching many up-and-coming artists’ careers.

The annual showcase offers creative people of all stripes to escape reality, let go and live the fantasy. Wiggle attracts a diverse crowd that has included rock stars such as Michael Stipe of R.E.M. and Blondie’s very own Deborah Harry. Wiggle has also boasted some of the world’s leading stars of Drag Royalty including The Lady Bunny of Wigstock fame, Miss Guy of The Toilet Boys, and Perfidia of Patricia Fields fame.

The excitement for this event to land in Montreal is growing and the cast of local talent is unique and amazing! We have hand-picked an extremely brilliant and diverse group of performers to captivate and dazzle utilizing this unique space with performance and immersive art around every corner.

Il met en vedette quelques-uns des artistes, des designers et des interprètes les plus innovateurs en ville !

Candis Cayne est passée avec brio des clubs new-yorkais au petit écran grâce à son rôle révolutionnaire dans Dirty Sexy Money. Son personnage a fait d’elle la première actrice transgenre à obtenir un rôle récurrent dans une série en prime time et a par le fait même souligné son influence en tant que pionnière LGBT. Aujourd’hui, Candis continue d’électriser Hollywood et la scène internationale.

Candis est de passage à Montréal pour animer Wiggle pour la troisième fois. Le festival célèbre à la fois sa 22e édition et sa 2e collaboration avec Never Apart. La dernière visite de Candis à la métropole remonte à 2015, lorsqu’elle a défilé comme grand Marshal de la Fierté.

Unissant des performances innovatrices et une foule avant-gardiste, ce spectacle est une célébration inédite qui en décoiffera plus d’un.

Depuis ses débuts, Wiggle attire une foule diversifiée incluant des rock stars telles que Michael Stipe du groupe R.E.M., Alanis Morrisette et Deborah Harry, tête d’affiche du groupe Blondie. Wiggle peut aussi se vanter d’avoir accueilli quelques-unes des figures marquantes du drag, comme l’habituée de Wigstock Lady Bunny, Miss Guy de The Toilet Boys, Perfidia de Patricia Fields.

Le retour de cet événement est attendu avec impatience et la distribution de talents locaux est unique et sensationnelle ! Nous avons réuni avec soin un groupe extrêmement talentueux et diversifié qui captivera et éblouira l’auditoire dans un espace où de l’art immersif et le spectacle seront présents à chaque tournant.
